Winking Manicure Tutorial
It's time for another tutorial! This tutorial also involves painting but on a much smaller canvas; Nails! I saw a picture of this manicure on tumblr and I decided to try it out. It did not turn out as neat as I wanted but I think it was a good first attempt. It's a fairly simple design but it is important to have a steady hand.
Essie Apricot Cuticle Oil: This is optional but I highly recommend it for everyone. It hydrates dry or cracked cuticles and it smells amazing.
Base Coat: I'm still on the hunt for the perfect base coat but for now I used the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Hardener (Which is great for my nails but probably not the best base coat). If anyone has recommendations, please send them my way.
Nail Color of Choice: I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish in "Plummet". I am obsessed with Insta-Dri! I usually only need one coat and it dries extremely fast. My biggest downfall with manicures is not waiting long enough for the polish to dry but Insta-Dri has fixed this problem.
Contrasting Nail Color: Since my main color is a deep purple I chose white for the detail color.
Skinny Nail Art Brush: This brush is a nail art necessity and has made nail art much easier for me. I will say that it definitely takes practice to get the best results.
Top Coat: Obviously my top coat of choice is also Insta-Dri. It's the perfect product for all the impatient people out there like myself.
I hope my ramblings made sense and will actually help.
