Recipe Round Up: The Best Margaritas
I love margaritas year round but there's something about the summertime that makes them more special. They're so dang refreshing...and the tequila helps. You probably aren't aware of this but National Tequila Day is coming up...yep that's thing and it's celebrated on July 24th. I feel like all these national fill in the blank days are getting quite redundant but I am a fan of Tequila so I'm not salty about this one(no pun intended). It seemed appropriate to share the best recipes for my favorite tequila-based cocktail...the MARGARRRRITA!!! As I mentioned earlier I love how refreshing margaritas are but they're also pretty easy to make. I took a fun bartending class once, in which we learned how to make a classic margarita, a hurricane, and a mint mojito. The margarita was most definitely the easiest. Continue below to check out these fun and easy recipe to celebrate National Tequila Day!
1. Coconut Margarita
Coconut margaritas are my absolute favorite! When I see a one of these on a restaurants menu, I know I'm will be visiting again. Get the recipe here.
2. Cotton Candy Margarita
I know it sounds surreal! This is a weird combo of my childhood and adult taste buds. Although the recipe does have a bit of cotton candy in it, it gets its flavor from cream soda. The creator of the recipe explains, "These cotton candy margaritas represent the most novel of county fair food, transformed for sipping. Granted, some people might think first of corndogs when they think of county fair foods." Get the recipe here.
3. Fresh Strawberry Margarita
This is the kind of margarita you drink when your fruit and veggie intake is low. The fresh strawberries make you feel a bit healthier. Get the recipe here.
4. Peach Margarita
I've never had a peach margarita but after seeing this recipe I MUST. I'm not sure if it's the well-lit photos but it just looks so yummy! Get the recipe here.
5. Strawberry Basil Margarita
Yes yes, I know I already listed a strawberry margarita but this one is different...it has basil in it! This is a game changer y'all, it is sweet, tart and refreshing. Get the recipe here.
6. Spicy Grapefruit Jalapeño Margarita
I absolutely hate the taste of jalapeños but I must admit it works in a margarita. I once had a classic margarita flavored with jalapenos but I imagine it would only get bette with the addition of grapefruit. Get the recipe here.
7. Winter Citrus Margarita
This is a more complex recipe but it's so worth the time it'll take to make it. Which is why I think this is an excuse for a margarita party. If you're going to spend this much time making a drink, you might as well make a large batcch and make a party out of it! Get the recipe here.
