Fruity Pebble Pancakes: Your Favorite Cereal Reinvented
Growing up my favorite breakfast was a big bowl of cereal and milk, and if I’m being completely honest I still spend some Saturday mornings watching Powerpuff Girls and chowing down on a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. That said, as an adult, I’ve decided I need to learn how to make a breakfast that has more than two ingredients. So I created a recipe that has 3 ingredients, including cereal and milk. I think breakfast should be a fun start to your day, and what’s more fun than Fruity Pebble pancakes? These nostalgic flapjacks are not only simple to make, but they might just be my new favorite breakfast. (and they most certainly pair well with your favorite Saturday morning cartoons). Fruity Pebble Pancakes
- 1 Cup Pancake Mix
- 3/4 Cup Milk
- 1 Cup Fruity Pebbles
Takes , serves 1.
Mix pancake mix and milk to create the batter, carefully fold in fruity pebbles in order to avoid crushing the pebbles and discoloring the batter.
Let batter sit for 5 minutes in so it can settle, this will make the pancakes fluffier.
Set griddle to 350º, and grease with butter or cooking spray. If using a stove top set it to medium heat, then grease a pan with butter or cooking spray.
Pour half the batter on to the griddle, cook for approximately 2 min on each side or until golden brown.
Repeat step 4 to make the second pancake.
Plate pancakes and add syrup, powdered sugar, or any toppings that you’d like.
- 2 Tbs Vanilla icing
- 1/4 Cup crushed Fruity Pebbles
Put the icing in a microwavable bowl, then microwave for 10-15 seconds or until melted.
Drizzle melted icing over pancakes
Sprinkle crushed fruity pebbles on top as a finishing touch
Dig in and admire your adulting skills.
