Happy Summer! With the warmer days approaching, along comes a variety of weather depending on your location. For some, it may be humid or dry heat, and for others, it may be plain HOT. Regardless of what kind of summer weather you have to deal with- there are some universal skincare tips that can make these approaching sunny days a little easier to get through without feeling like a pile of sweat! I am a product junkie, and anyone who knows me knows that I have a product recommendation for every type of occasion, skin problem, season, etc.

Currently, my number one product obsession is Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. I purchased this facial spray at Urban Outfitters for $7.00, and I can not imagine living through summer without it! This spray fits perfectly in a purse, and all you have to do is spray in on your face throughout the day to feel hydrated and glowing. It is also the perfect staple for your summer makeup routine, due to the fact that it A.) cools you down and B.) can be used as a setting spray. I love to use this spray when I am wearing no makeup, personally. It gives me that summery glow that somehow always dies in the winter months.

When it comes to makeup in the summer, I go a lot less heavy with mine. I always feel that the sun makes a woman's skin come to life. I recently started using Jessica Alba’s line called “Honest Co”. This line also has amazing products for a natural, light look. I am currently using the “Honest Co. Face and Body Lotion” (on my face), and the “Honest Co. Body Wash and Shampoo” (on my body). These two products provide an organic and eco-friendly option, which is even more of a benefit to their happy summertime scents and hydrating qualities. Even if this may not be the specific product for you, I would highly recommend checking out this website.

Summer also brings some not so fun beauty regimes, like the oh so dreaded shaving. In the summer, it is likely that we shave more often than we would in the winter (unless you do not shave at all, which if so- you go girl!). For those who do shave, it is important to prep the skin with a light exfoliator at least a day before shaving. This will prepare the skin to be clean, smooth, and bump free.

Also, always make sure to switch your razor blade every few months so it does not become dull, this will prevent the blade from snagging your skin. My favorite exfoliator is Rub Rub Rub by Lush, I use this once a week and especially on dry/bumpy areas of my skin. Even if you do not shave, you can use this exfoliator for extra smooth and radiant skin. It can also be used in the hair for volume.

Another common skincare issue is dry feet that may be lingering from those treacherous socks and boots days. If you do not have the funds to get consistent pedicures, or simply are more of a DIY girl, you can find many great products to help solve this issue. I am a huge fan of LUSH, and even though I have never tried any of their foot creams I have heard great things. There is a wide variety of thick creams for the foot, and also foot masks.

A foot mask that I did try is the Sephora Almond Foot Mask. It was super cheap, only $6 I believe. You apply this foot mask like a sock and let it sit for about 15 minutes. When you take it off your foot feels like it is covered in a gel that you then rub in. It definitely helped with my dry winter feet, and it also smelt amazing- definitely a must for a “treat yo’self day”. I know they carry these in many scents, as well as hand masks. For this price, it is worth the experimentation!

Bottom line is, whether it is dry, oily, combination, tan, pale, dark, etc.- love the skin you’re in, and do so by taking care of it with products that help!
